I was watching "Time Warp" on TV today and saw a program featuring shotgun pellets vs. clay pigeons.
"Time Warp" uses high-speed cameras to make ultra-mega-slow-motion videos. Naturally, they do lots of stuff with bullets and guns and arrows.
The English version of this video on YouTube has been taken down, but the French version is still available. If you don't mind listening to French for a few minutes you can jump right to the good parts:
2:15 to 2:40 - wad and shot leaving muzzle
2:40 to 3:00 - pellets hitting clay pigeon
3:00 - wad flying past broken pigeon
3:10 - side view of shot pattern (you can get some depth perspective on a shot pattern)
4:15 - effects of recoil on Olympic pro and noob
5:20 - full choke & cylinder choke vs. a bundle of ballons (very cool; you can see how tightly grouped the pellets are with a full choke)
