ilbob are you a Chigago cop? And yes I do rat out drunk drivers that I do not know and I also have disabled my friends cars and thrown keys in the river or bushes to keep them from driving. I've lost a few "friends" but they are still alive and not in jail. I don't associate with pot smokers so I have not had the opportunity to impact them.

I didn't hire them to enforce unconstitutional law.

I've been considering this a bit--are these laws unconstitutional? What makes a law unconstitutional? The constitution even explains this, right? A law is only constitutional if SCOTUS says it is, right? Even if congress makes a law saying everyone has to turn in all guns, the citizens appeal it, SCOTUS rules, nope, that law is fine--that all is allowed within the constitution? Probably not the right thread and I'm sure a lot of folks will disagree with it because it's not fair/just...but is it incorrect?

I wouldn't bash the FOP too badly here. They have to provide a vigorous representation for every member in trouble no matter if they were in the right or wrong. If they don't then they can be held liable in civil court for the financial losses of the cop for losing his job, cost of insurance, bennies, retirement, etc.
