At least for me. Guy I went with, my pastor, didn't see anything. It was a 3 day hunt and I tagged this one first afternoon. I was hunting with a guide from a box blind on the H3P ranch, a large ranch of one section located NE of Dallas. Thing walked out of the woods about 30 minutes before sundown. I shot soon as it stopped, ran back to the edge of the woods and just stood there. Guide says "put another round in her", so I did. She went 10 yards into the woods and dropped. Guide estimated her age at 9 years. So, now, I have two 120 quart ice chests full of meat I have to process. gr_grin.gif

Gun used was a Savage 110 in 7mm Rem Mag. Load was a max load of RL22 under a 160 Nosler Partition. I took it at 200 yards two shots in the shoulder, but I think I really only needed one. gr_grin.gif Bullets had total penetration.

Congrats.
Good to hear.
I just applied for a tag in Wyoming and am working on a .300 winmag load.
Gun will be my gunbash win. Savage 111. I took the 3X9 Bushnell off and put a Leupold VX5HD 3X15
Looks like 70 grains of IMR4350 over a 180 gr accubond for now.
I may tweak the load.

Thanks all. The hunt itself was sorta like deer hunting from a box blind with a feeder 200 yards off. Animals moved in right before dark. Lessee, where've I heard this song before? LOL BUT, I can't go hunt western mountains anymore. It's just way over my head, that sort of rough country exertion. So, this was fun and the cow was huge. :D
