coyote management?

I like my 14" Contender in .204 Ruger with a 4x Burris. Quick to shoot, quick to kill. I impressed a friend last weekend by destroying golf balls to 100 yds at a rapid pace. Using off the shelf ammo it'll shoot ~.75 on the days I can see.

We discussed this at length at TheFiringLine, and arrived at a majority consensus that, while it can be done, the .22 is not by any means the best method of killing coyotes. (It's an interesting thread there-- a challenge was made regarding ability to just "shoot 'em in the eye")

I'm fond of the .22 Hornet, and would consider it or the .22 WMRF as a minimum for humane coyote destruction, with considered near shots.
