Okay, let's say there is a "last ditch" type scenario in which you have a few rounds, but your gun is out of commission for whatever reason, or you managed to sneak the rounds away from captors, or whatever. This isn't a "try it at home" idea, just more of a thought exercise.
How could you make an improvised "gun" to launch the bullet(s)? Obviously it'd be easier with, say, shotgun rounds, and there would be NO range to the weapon, but do you think it's possible to somehow improvise a device to use as a gun, assuming you have legit bullets?
You'd need a device to act as a striker, and something to direct the bullet to some extent I presume. At extremely short distances I doubt you'd need to manage the combustion very much, as long as you could make the projectile go forward.
If you think the idea is stupid, you're right, but it doesn't hurt to give consideration to how one might use a bullet as a weapon in a life or death scenario with no gun. Are there any cases where this has happened?
The only example I can think of is covert agents using some type of modified bicycle pump that had a round it in. Not really what I'm thinking of, either.
