I've had the Tikka CTR in 308 for a couple of years. I decided I wanted to try the Tikka T1x in 22LR. I went by my local gun shop and had them order one for me. Cost ended up being $440 OTD. I'd never seen one in person and when it came in realized it is just a slightly scaled down CTR. Same basic stock, both have the same contour 20" barrel and both have slightly extended 10 round magazines.

Both are shooters. The 308 at 100 yards. I missed high with shot #1, but put the next 4 in one hole

15 rounds of Wolf target ammo through the 22 on the left @ 50 yards, 10 rounds of CCI on the right. The dots are 1/2" for reference.

I believe that the T1X also shares the same trigger as the other Tikka rifles.

And great shooting by the way.

What scope did you put on the little one?

The 22 has a VX-2, 3-9X40 with custom dials. I bought it used off another hunting forum a few years ago. I've moved it around to several different 22 rifles since. I never had sent in to have a custom dial made for it. I've played around shooting 22's at 100 and 200 yards and having the ability to dial in at different ranges is good. I can also dial adjust for different ammo. At only 50 yards there is often a lot of difference between high velocity ammo and target loads. Getting it dialed in is a trial and error process. This was the 1st range trip for the T1 and I only shot it at 50 to see how it did with several types of ammo. I've used this scope enough on other rifles at 100 and 200 that it probably won't take too long to figure out the drops and where to set the dials.

I'm REALLY liking the 22. It is just the right balance of weight to be steady off a bench but not too heavy for squirrel hunting. The 308 is extremely accurate, but heavier than I'd want to carry for the type of hunting I normally do.

@jmr40 keep an eye out on Beretta's site, every so often they have a sale. I picked up a few extra magazines for my T1x there not too long ago- there was a 25% of sale on magazines. I was able to grab a few for $23 and change.

That's good to know. The only ones I've seen have been $35. I'll want at least one spare.
