Hmmm.... I'm not finding exactly what I want from any of the current lever gun maker offerings. If you know of one that has what I want, please let me know!!! Here's what I'm looking for:

Caliber - .357Mag/.38Spl
Magazine - 3/4 to Full length
Barrel length - 18-20"
Barrel shape - round
Finish - Blue steel or Stainless
Furniture - Walnut or brown laminate (black laminate for stainless gun)
Stock type - Pistol grip rear stock
Lever shape - curved to match pistol grip stock
Sights - ghost ring or peep rear, post/blade front. NO SCOPES!

PLEASE, no other calibers! I'm looking for a 150yd (max) brush gun. I reload .357/.38. I don't reload .44! I currently hunt with my 8" Dan Wesson .357, but am limited to 50yds since I can hit a 3" target every time at that range with iron sights -- I hate scopes!

Looks like you'll be spending a lot of money just to get a pistol grip stock. Everything else is available off the shelf. They may have made Winchester (please, not Winnie!) 94 Legacy or Trails End models with a pistol grip in .357. Not sure if any of the limited run late model 1892's have been done in that configuration either.

A horrible limitation. The Marlin 336 in 35 Rem. would do the trick far better at 150 yards. You can find used Marlins for around $350...and you can load 357 bullets for plinking.

New this year I believe.

BTW: I own several lever-actions with both pistol grip and straight grip configuration.

The curved lever & grip would certainly not be a deal breaker for me.
In fact I find the 94 Winchester straight carbine style grip to be faster to the shoulder and more instinctive pointing then my Model 65 or Model 53 with the curved pistol grips.

Cougar,
I live in Cleveland myself. Are you planning on using that Lever in Ohio or elsewhere?

Can't use rifle for deer in OH, so that's why I use the 8" DW .357. PA/WV is another story.

Winchester has a pistol gripped 1892 (made by Miroku in Japan). Not sure of bbl configuration. CDNN Sports had them in the catalog.

My SASS rifle is a pistol gripped .357 Uberti 1873. Mine has an octagon barrel but here is the variant with a half-round, half octagonal tube which has a really great feel:

Uberti makes an 1873 carbine with a round barrel but it has a straight stock.

Mine came with a semibuckhorn rear sight. You can probably add a tang mounted peep sight easily enough.

That Marlin is awesome! that is the most tacticool factory lever gun i have seen. I want one but the price is hard to swallow for me.

That Marlin 1894CSBL seems to be the closest I'm gonna get to my wish list. I'd prefer it had a longer barrel though... And it is very pricy!
