Which of this would you choose? Their prices are almost the same with a little high edge towards the Beretta.

Easily the Beretta based on personal taste and looks. The CZ-75 Stainless is lovely, but not in the same league to me.

Also the Beretta from a practical standpoint. The 92 Inox is harder to find than the 75 Stainless. If you have a line on the Inox at a similar price point, go for it.

Based on previous threads here it seems like the majority of folks on THR prefer the CZ over the Beretta. I agree with LockedBreech in my preference for the Beretta. Both are good guns, but the Beretta has always shot better in my hands. To me, the fit and finish of the Beretta is also better, if that's important to you. Nothing against the CZ; it's still a fine pistol.

Depends if you want a great feeling handgun, or one that feels like a 2x4 in your hand...
Pick them both up, and you'll know which one is the 2x4:)

I have both guns. They are pretty different in the hand. I think holding both would settle an either/ or scenario pretty quickly. My 92fs has a long trigger pull that breaks all the way at the end. I prefer the cz in most of the ways that matter but the beretta is a great gun. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions if you have any.

This may not apply if you have medium to large hands. That's what mine are and the 92 fits like a glove and the CZ slide is maddeningly small to rack.

Both are really good guns and it boils down to person preference. However, every time I've seen the CZ vs. Beretta poll come up on here the CZ seems to be preferred by about 75% of the people. I agree with this. There you have it, democracy in action.

On the other hand, for those with smaller hands, the trigger reach in DA mode for the CZ is longer, and if you decide to use the CZ in SA mode, the reach to the thumb safety is also a long one.

As thick as the Beretta is, and I'll admit the CZ grip feels good in the hand, I would rather live with the thick Beretta grip since I can reach the controls easier.

CZ pistols or Beretta

Beretta (SP?) had a lot of problems before being bought out by Taurus. CZ has been a quality design for years, such that there are many clones/copies. The Baretta line, to me, is overweight, has or had poor customer service and has lately come out with a lot of new stuff, most of which is pretty good quality. But high priced.

All this double talk of mine is to emphasize the need to hold, fondle and wave around each for comfort and feel. Then you'll know which is the better choice.

A few things I don't like about my old 92 inox....
1. I do not like slide mounted safeties
2. The front night sight was dull, but part of the slide, so no replacing it...
3. Grip is wider then I liked.
Good things..
1. Paid 425 for it, made a profit selling it.

CZs do have a long reach in da, but do offer a short reach and reset kit , installed by CZ custom shop.
Best go handle before you buy, both great weapons!

Beretta was not bought out by Taurus. Taurus acquired a Beretta factory in Brazil where they produce a version of the Beretta 92.

To the OP, I would say you can't go wrong either way. Both are attractive, accurate, reliable pistols. I have a satin stainless CZ 75B and a black Beretta M9 and enjoy them both; I've been tempted by their counterparts in different finishes but can't quite justify having two otherwise identical pistols when there's such variety out there.

I would choose neither but that is me.

I would suggest that you try each out and then invest in what works best for you.

Good luck!

CZ any day of the week ending in "Y".

I can reach the controls, do not care for slide safeties, probably one of the most ergonomic grips on a double stack, and I dig the lower bore axis.

I hear the argument about the lack of real estate on the CZ slide for racking: Hold with your weak hand at the rear of the slide, and push the frame forward with the strong hand. You only need room for the index and thumb fingers. Not a big deal.:)

Can you try both? If you can, whichever makes you want to shoot it and shoot it--that's the one to buy.

It also depends on whether you want a gun that is absolutely reliable vs one that is so-so. I'd buy the Beretta if I ever felt i might actually use it to defend myself. Your hand will conform to whatever you put in it.

I went in to my LGS a few years back to get either the Beretta 92 FS INOX or a polished SS CZ75. After handling the CZ, that's the one I walked out with.
It felt like it was created to fit my hand. Added a bunch of goodies including a Hogue wraparound grip with finger grooves that made it feel even better.

The Beretta is a great firearm, I like the ease of changing out most any part. And great videos produced to provide guidance in doing do. I never had a single malfunction with my 92fs, however I never shot it very accurately. Sold it.

Bought a CZ 75BD and could not be anymore pleased. No malfunctions in first 800 rounds spent do far. Built like a tank and shoots nicely.

My recommendation would be the CZ.

I have tried the Beretta's before. They just don't fit my hand like the CZ's do.

For those who might doubt, I currently own 4 CZ pistols and all have been 100% reliable so far.

Where in the world did you get that notion? Taurus was licensed to produce a 92 copy, that's all. Not only is Beretta vastly superior to Taurus in quality, but Beretta has never left the ownership of the Beretta family. At ~500 years, it's the world's oldest privately owned firearm company - and rather than being bought out, Beretta has acquired a number of brands including Stoeger, Benelli, and Sako.

The Beretta is going to have a wider grip than te CZ. Beretta makes great guns and CZ makes great guns. Both companies have great customer service.

Not sure what your intended purpose is, but you will see more CZ's and CZ clones in shooting competitions than you will see Berettas, but if you are just looking for a full sized gun with a great capacity, you can't beat either. If I had to pick 1 it would be te CZ. CZ's outnumber Berettas about 15:1 in my collection.

Beretta = Italian Taurus

I've shot both, no diff. Carried that Beretta for years in the USAF because I had
no choice.

Bought a CZ85 Combat a few yrs ago. Flat out awesome.

Leaving aside the evident quality gap by agreeing to disagree, the more accurate statement would be "Taurus = Brazilian Beretta". It is not a Taurus design.
