Ok, so dumb question, but does the recoil spring from a 75B fit a 75? I only ask because I attempted to install a 16lb 75B spring in my 75 and promptly launched the recoil spring and guide rod across the room. Right before the launch, I noticed the spring was kinking up pretty badly. A side by side reveals the 75B spring is approximately 1/2 inch longer than the current spring. Seems like a lot of spring to cram in there.....

Any help appreciated while I get the cat off the top of the china cabinet.....

That's not an uncommon problem, even puting it into the 'B'.

My last recoil spring was a lighter 11# spring and it was too long to fit and lay flat on the short guide rod.

I called CZ Custom and they said to cut 'two' coils off and it will fit. Well it 'barely fit, but did take a 'set' after being in the gun a while. It functions fine. Posters on the CZ Forum, said they cut '3' coils off.

It sounds like the same 'fix' will work with the pre-B 75. The "Wolff springs (gunsprings.com) are now the replacement CZ springs and are anot shaped on one end to fit/snap on the guiderod.

You can call the CZ Custom Shop to confirm it if you want o know for sure.
