I have a CZ-75b in 9mm. Sometimes when I pull the trigger, the hammer doesn't drop. This has never happened in DA, and happened very few times in SA mode before today. Before, it only happened when I cocked the hammer manually, and I thought I was hyperextending the hammer or something.
However, today, I shot it and went through one magazine and the hammer failed to fall once. I pulled the trigger again, and the gun functioned normally.
Then, it the hammer didn't fall again, and I pulled the trigger about twenty times before the hammer fell.
I proceeded to finish the magazine and ran another through with no problems.

Any ideas?

Maybe the knuckle of your thumb is bumping the safety lever up just enough during firing to cause it to engage and block the sear?

Or, look at the trigger bar inside the magazine well - there should be a couple of bent-wire springs underneath the trigger bar, pushing it up on both sides. If those springs are broken, or have become wedged out from under the trigger bar, the bar may not be rising up far enough to reliably engage the SA sear.

is the trigger moving all the way back or is something impeding the trigger?

there is a direct series of physical connections that lift the sear off of the hammer hooks.

the trigger will push the trigger bar back.

the trigger bar will push on the underside of the sear

the sear will rotate, and lift off of the hammer hooks.

that said, strip the slide off the gun and inspect that chain of physical links.

if your rearward trigger movement feels sticky or is restricted, clean thoroughly.

inspect parts for wear.

obviously your disconnector is working, since it's not going full auto.

the other thing to check, is if your trigger is resetting properly. when the slide cycles, it pushes the trigger bar down to disconnect it from the underside of the sear. perhaps once in a while, it's so dirty where the trigger bar is, that it's failing to rise back up and re-engage the sear leg. check that hte area aroudn the trigger bar is clear where it slides against hte frame around the top of the magazine well.

let me know what you find.

i hope it didn't get so dirty that the trigger bar isn't re-engaging the sear leg... it could also be that the trigger bar spring, which pushes the bar upwards, either broke, is weak, or somehow got off track.

i didn't immediately see a diagram of a cz-75, but a 97 is similar at least in the action. part 7 is the trigger bar, part 34 is the spring that pushes it up. make sure the space between the frame and the trigger bar are clean.

Ok, I cleaned it real well, (I used about a half-can of every gun cleaner we have) and it is better.. by that I mean it has yet to repeat the problem.

Think there could have been some grease or something from the factory that wasn't cleaned out real well?
My gun in fairly new, I don't think I have shot it enough for it to be real dirty.. perhaps I am wrong.
