All my shotgun experience is with a Mossberg 500. I'm looking to get into skeet shooting at my club. I'm left handed. Looking at the CZ drake southpaw in eather 12 or 20 gauge. I can pick up one for just over 600. Seems like a good price to get into the sport. Looking for opinions about the gun and gauge to get. Thanks in advance.

FYI, my Dad is a lefty, I'm a righty. We sared the same shotgun for years, an Ithaca M37. It's a bottom ejection system.

[edit]Well, I just did a quick price search. They seem to run twice the cost of the CZ.

Looks like a decent entry level shotgun although I don't have any experience with their shotguns. I have a CZ 455 rifle that's high quality and a little more expensive than most.

28" barrel is fine. 12 ga ammo is about the same cost as 20 ga. Personally I would prefer the 20 ga for lighter recoil. Those are light shotguns at 6.5 lbs.
