I've got the CZ bug pretty bad and I think it's finally time to get off the pot! All the ones I've seen have the black polycoat finish. I can't find a good image of the "glossy blue" version. Does anyone have a pic they could share? Since I might have to get the dealer to order one, I want to make sure I request the right finish. I'm undecided between the polycoat and the blued.

Thanks!

The blued CZ's are beautiful, but the polycoat is very corrosion resistant. Do an internet search on the CZ-97B and you'll find some pictures of the blued version.

Sorry, I don't have a pic. of my blued CZ 75B nor a digital camera.
I'll put that on my list of things to get done.

CHeck out the CZ Club thread - there's plenty of pics on
that thread. I got the blued because I read the polycoat could
flake - I don't know if the gunwriter writing the review was
speculating because of past experience with other like coatings or
not. FYI - I got the blued version after handling one in a store
that is just 8 miles away but just over the WASH/IDaho border &
they don't do transfers. It's a polished black bluing - maybe not
highly polished but not flat if you want to compare it to a S&W 27
Deluxe polished vs the S&W Model 28 flat bluing it leans more
toward a middle polished prior to bluing imho.

I was actually looking for the Duo-Tone but couldn't find one, so
I got the blued version. THe Duo Tone is satin nickel frame with
poly coat slide/controls. So, long term after I settle on
trigger work I'll look to getting the frame hard chromed.

Thanks for the link, that was pretty informative. It sounds like the polycoat would be better for most purposes, unless I end up using it strictly as a range gun. But considering all my current pistols have a phosphate-type finish with either plastic or alloy frames, I'm now lusting for the classic deep blued steel look. I guess I have no choice but to get one of each! ;)

nothing wrong with that. :)

before you know it, you'll be part of the CZ club too. :D

get one of these in polycoat. $289+cheap shipping + your ffl. runs perfect under stress of competition. :D :D :D
