Have been mulling the thought of a smaller 9mm DA/SA type. Just to note that I'm CA roster limited.
Your thoughts between these?

I really like my P2000 so this would be a nice companion piece I thought. OTOH the past year I've also wonder about the CZ 75's series.

I cordially detest the RAMI for its sharp edges. It'd be P2KSK, or better yet P30SKS if that's an option.

I carry a P30SK and have handled both guns in question. I agree with Sergi Mosin on the sharp edge thing but it doesn’t bother me to the same level.

I liked the CZ trigger better, but the HK just fit my hand better.

There are several variation of HK and two for the CZ (polymer or alloy) The two guns are like night and day. Both are good but entirely different.

I’ve owned both a Rami and P30sk V3 and no longer own either if that tells you anything. Neither were ideal to me for ccw. If had to buy one or the other now it would probably be the Rami because concealed better and much better trigger for da/sa. Would handle and dry fire a H&K with V1 LEM trigger first though and if liked might swing that way because grip and ergos better on the H&K. The da/sa trigger on H&K though to me feels like a kids plastic toy.

Except the p2000 is only slightly bigger than the P2SK.
Somewhat true, although to me .5 inch additional length and height is significant for ccw. Rami would also only be slightly smaller than P2000 so I guess question to op is what is purpose of this gun? I still would choose the one that would use common mags if for SD or ccw. If just something to have to shoot I wouldn’t get either.

I suggest you take a look at the CZ 75 PCR or P-01 (I believe they are on the roster...). I've never actually owned a RAMI, but in my hand they do not have the CZ ergonomics that helped make the 75 family famous and widely loved. Some comparison photos...

Here's the P2000SK atop the PCR, aligned at the top of the grip where the web of your hand wraps around. NOTE that the PCR doesn't have the rubber magazine base in this photo -- it has the metal base that comes from the factory with the guns. The P-01 comes from the factory with the rubber base. CZ capacity is 14+1 with either base, vs. 10+1 for the HK despite being essentially the same height overall.

I had the HK P2000SK V3 above, and I would say it was my least favorite handgun I've ever owned. I had handled the P2000 and liked it okay, thought I might try a polymer gun, bought the SK without actually handling it first, and hated it. Mine had a horribly, pointlessly heavy SA trigger, the plasticky booooiiiinnnnggggg effect of a dry fire annoyed me for some reason, ergonomics didn't suit me at all, and I just did NOT connect with it whatsoever. But that was me, not necessarily other people.

I briefly owned basically a polymer CZ75 compact copy made in Turkey. CDNN or one of those places was selling them for $229. It was a good shooter and I liked it a lot. I would still have it, but the LGS wanted to include it in my multi-handgun trade for a S&W 629, so I let it go.

This is more of a fun toy where ultimate carry or concealability is not as high a requirement but beneficial around the house. Prior the Firestar had this role. Have pondered a S&W Shield or a Glock 26 which would probably be better suited choices and at prices much easier to find if hunting for preowned. The main SD gun is a DA/SA so that carry over is initially what is in mind with this one. Not a requirement though.

I've not shot a Rami and don't know if an opportunity would exist. I like the HK because the triggers of the P2000 and SK version are very much alike. Not great by any means but they maintain that "family" feel. I'm able to shoot the HK sufficiently for the intended uses. The Glock and S&W don't raise obvious objections. I don't know if having that similarity between a sub compact and larger version is preferable?

Since you like your P2000 a lot a P2000SK would be a no brainer IMO. My experience is with my HK P30SK and I love it. I really like my CZ SP01 for a range gun but one thing I don't like about metal frame CZs in regards to self defense use is the skinny slide grip area..

Might want to consider a LEM trigger. Sorry, I know I say that in like every HK thread that comes up, but I really like it.

After trying one I really never wanted to buy another HK hammer gun without it.

Tried the P2000SK but it wasn't a good fit for me ergonomically plus I didn't really care for the trigger (don't recall what version it was). The CZ RAMI is okay and I like that I can carry it in Condition One with the thumb safety. But the grip design seems a bit uncomfortable to me. I much prefer the CZ P01 for how comfortable it sits in my hand and for the overall feel of the DA/SA trigger.

I own both the P2000 and P2000sk, as well as a CZ P01.

I carry the P2000 far more then the SK. The SK has a different enough feel then the P2000 that I prefer the “full size”. Do note however flat floor plates on both guns make a WORLD of difference as far as concealability. All in all I prefer the P2000 and it is “my gun” so to speak. Does it all for me.

I cannot speak to the RAMI beyond feeling it and thinking it was a chunky monkey. The mid sized P01/PCR are spectacular guns. Like the P2000 or a Glock 19/23 etc. the P01/PCR are sweet spot guns that do everything well.

I don’t own either but I really wanted a Rami. Did some research and I read a lot of forum threads that didn’t speak highly of the ergonomics. Most say it is chunky and not real comfortable to shoot or to carry. I finally got my hands on one in a shop and I wasn’t thrilled either. Definitely one I recommend holding before purchasing.

My P30SK is my favorite carry gun. Love the Ergos and Reliability... Just handles like a larger gun than it is to me. Take that for what it's worth (not much). Haven't been able to catch a Rami in the wild to even handle so I can't speak to that but the decocker version has always interested me.

I've never actually owned a RAMI, but in my hand they do not have the CZ ergonomics that helped make the 75 family famous and widely loved.

That's because the RAMI inherited it's design from the CZ-40B, which started life as a collaboration with Colt to make a double stack, DAO, .40 S&W 1911ish gun to compete on the law enforcement market. About the only thing it shares with the -75 series are the magazines.

Is the Sig P239 on the roster? I had a P30sk until I handled a P239. The trigger difference alone is staggering. I now own a P239 9mm.

Had a p2000, installed the light LEM trigger. I wanted badly to love it. I always thought that an HK with a light LEM first pull, followed by a single action would be ideal. HK D/A trigger suck in my opinion. Found the ideal combination in a Walther P99as. Absolutely love that gun.

I had a CA RAMI decocker. It had great ergonomics and was dead-nuts reliable and plenty accurate. But as a double-stack, it was just too "fat" for me to CC comfortably. I sold it recently to a local disabled vet and I'm glad it went to a good home (better than neglected in my safe).

My CCW is a CZ 75D PCR. Small enough I can carry it in a pocket holster. Large enough to provide one of the best platforms for me! IMG_8765 (1).JPG IMG_8772.JPG unnamed (1).jpg

@Shipwreck owns both P2000 and SK.. yet carries the P2000 more... Perhaps he can chime in..
I only own the P2SK.

Yes, I have owned both the P2000 and P2000sk for the same amount of time. The P2000sk is my favorite subcompact I have owned, and I have owned many subcompacts over the years.

That being said, I rarely, rarely carry it. The P2000 has been my daily carry gun for 4.5 years. The P2000 is not much bigger than the sk. And, it doesn't really print anymore than the P2000sk does. I MUCH, MUCH prefer the bigger P2000.

I have owned 10 or 11 HKs over the past 20 years. The P2000 is my favorite HK that I have owned out of all of them. I actually had a P2000 in 2008. I sold it to buy something else, but I missed the gun. So, I eventually got another.

Both the P2000 and P2000sk that I own are DA/SA. That is my preference. I shoot the gun pretty well too. I previously had two Sig M11As. They are about the same size at the P2000, but I found that I shot the P2000 better. I later sold the M11As.... And, the P2000 is lighter than the metal framed Sig.

I have factory night sights on both my P2000 and P2000sk - they both shoot pretty good. But, the extra size of the P2000 makes the gun easier to shoot at longer distances.

I have both the Rami and the P2000sk.

Both are good guns, both are very carryable., I'd say the HK is a little more refined and shoots a little better, IMO. The Rami stings my trigger figure, don't know why, but it isn't a deal breaker. CZ magazines have higher capacities available if you care about such matters.
