Had an SP-01 on order from a local gunshop for nearly a month. Never could get one in, so I decided to buy one from Angus Hobdell in Arizona. They had one in stock, ready to ship, so I "bit" the bullet and ordered it.

A few comments on the SP-01;

Grip/ergonomics are the best I have ever encountered.
Trigger pull, SA & DA are excellent
Cocobolo grips are beautiful
Fiber optic front sight and target rear are excellent

I fired 100 rounds today and had 1 failure to completely eject a case. This occurred one the second magazine. No other problems after this. I shot this group with a crude rest at 30' (10 yards). Glad I took the plunge.

I have an 85 combat and a 75 compact at this time. Had the oportunity to handle a SPO1 with a nice trigger job a while back but made a mistake & did not buy it. Enjoy.

Nice buy. CZ has some really excellent human engineering going into their pistol's, they just seem to slide into the hand and become a natural extension of it. I have the PO1 dressed in half checkered coco bolo and they really blend well with the poly-coat finish. I'd like to pick up one like your's but will hold out until they offer it with an alloy frame. Once you break that beauty in you'll not have too many more failure's I'll wager. Wait till you bench that beast at 25 yards with some good ammo, you'll be shocked, I promise.....:D

My newest SP01 was a dud right out of the box. I can't find anything it will feed and eject reliably. Tried a bunch of different magazines (I have an SP01 Tactical as well).

It went back to CZ over a month ago... I'm planning on calling them tomorrow to see what the deal is.

DENALI,

I bought the SP-01 because of the performance of my CZ-75. Not sure how CZ does it, but their service grade 9's are incredibly accurate. Like you stated, the grip on the SP is like a natural extension of the hand. I feel the ergonomics are just one of the reasons CZ's shoot so well.

stevemis,

Hopefully, CZ will make it right. I'm no gunsmith, but tinkering with 1911's has taught me most problems are mag or extractor related. What's the word on getting yours back?

Ive got a loaner for molding holsters with and its a bloody sweetie! Its the model with the Competition DA hammer on it and Ill tell you what....its got about a 2lb SA trigger on it and its a shooter.

If I had the money...it would be mine.

Shoot well and god bless

Sorry to bring back a semi-dead thread, but I am really thinking about getting one of these. I like this model because of the manual safety and accessory rail.

How is it feeding these days? I really don't want something that's finicky about ammunition seeing as I have a stockpile of cheap stuff (Winchester White Box 9mm FMJ and JHP).

Would you mind sharing roughly how much someone should pay for a CZ SP-01?

Also, can you attach accessories designed for a Glock rail to this gun? Or do you need some sort of adaptor? I'm specifically thinking of my Streamlight TLR-1...

alexd: I can't say anything about the rest of your post, because I don't have one of these. BUT, as far as the rail thing goes.. it's a standard rail, so anything that fits on your Glock (or any other gun with the rail) will work.
