The rule book is not very clear on this (to me):

As I understand it, CZ75 (DA/SA) belongs in the SSP by virtue of DA first shot.

However, can it be shot in ESP, cocked and locked? Does IDPA allow using a DA/SA gun in SA mode if the gun is capable of SA only mode as CZ75 is?

You guize that are shoothing the CZ75, are you hand loading? If so, what are your favorite loads?

Newguy, do you know if there are any reliable 13-round or 15-round mags for CZ-75? We're limited to 10-rounders here in NJ (since the stock CZ75 mag is a 16-rounder and the NJ state limit is 15 rounds). Doesn't matter for IDPA, but would be nice to have some higher capacity mags anyway.
 
terry, I'd be a felon here in NJ if I had one of those 16-rounders. :)

As to your earlier question, I don't load 9mm yet.
 
15 round Jersey legal cz magazines

I do have 15 round mags for my cz75. Midway has them, they don't have the greatest reviews but I've been lucky so far.
 
I saw the midway 15-rounders, was not thrilled with the feedback, like you mentioned. I guess they'll be worth a try.

What ammo you run in them?

I know a guy who's been having problems shooting Remington UMC hardball 115 grainers in his CZ75 (using CZ 10-rounders), but no problems with any other 9mm ammo.
 
All my mags are factory or MecGar. IN about 1000 rounds of RN, HP, Hard Cast, etc. the gun has never failed to load, shoot, and extract.

Currently I'm comparing PPistol (5.6g), TiteGroup (3.0g), and w231 (3.5gr) under a hard cast LTC. I plan to use this for my first IPSC match this weekend. Still doing the chrono dance but it looks like if I get 900fps I'm good for minor PF.

I don't know for sure, but I remember reading somewhere that it's not allowed. I suspect the mag has to be manufactured as a 15 rounder. There are things that can be done, but the potential liability risks (as miniscule as they may be) are not worth it to me. Since there's no CCW in NJ, this will be an IDPA/range gun only.
 
As another NJ shooter, I do want to repeat that blocking the mag is illegal. That being said.... Denis S, you might want to take a look at a CZ 75 .40 cal mag and see how many 9mm rounds fit in it. Before the ban was lifted, this is how all CZ shooters got their round counts up. I always heard nothing but good reports. You might and I repeat might have to pinch the mag lips a little bit so the smaller diam rounds dont shoot out the top. I am not positive, but I beleive this will be legal as the mag will still work in a .40 and does not hold more then 15 .40 cal rounds.
 
I have a CZ75B and have shot a few IDPA matches with it. All the research I did before I bought it said that you could use it cocked and locked, with the safety engaged in ESP, or hammer down in SSP. They said you might have had a problem in the past with clubs not knowing that it was legal to manually lower the hammer for use in SSP, but that now clubs should be aware that this is legal. Of course, you have to be careful. My local club had a problem with me lowering the hammer, saying that they thought that I had to have a gun with a decocker to shoot SSP. The rule just says that the DA/SA selective guns must begin with the hammer down, not that they must have a decocker or that guns without a decocker are not allowed. I'm trying to figure out how I can get a final answer to them being legal in SSP. Love the CZ, by the way.
 
Smokin Gator, I use my CZ75b in IDPA in the SSP division. I haven't had an issues with ROs while manually lowering the hammer. The CZ75b is legal in SSP according to the IDPA rulebook. As for higher capacity magazines, I have had good luck with the Promag .40 caliber mags, they hold, I believe 14 rounds.

No.
You can either hammer the magazine brake flat or order the CZ85 Combat part which is flat to begin with. Don't just take it out, the magazine will hang up on the grip screw boss on the reload.
