I picked up a Do-All Clay Hawk, it is the full cock model, think it was about 50 bucks. I can try it out and if I do not like it I can bring it back, but I fired off a couple of clays it looks pretty good but I will have to increase the tension in the spring.. I was thinking of the one step trius thrower if this one does not cut it, I wish I could pick up a electric but that's way too much $ for me.

What I want to see is your guys experience with what and what.

(I do have the hand launcher model I can't do it correctly I must be special! :p)

I have used them all from hand throwers to the electrics. While the electrics are expensive if you shoot enough they are worth it plus the wobble plate makes them pretty fun.

oops...did I overlook that last line, or is that an edit....sorry

Have you tried a hand powered thrower? I buy the $6 red plastic one and love it. Of course, you have to have a buddy to take turns with. I always found spring powered traps to be too boring, throwing the same shot each time. Of course, I like skeet more than trap, too.

A friend tells me that he duct tapes a boom handle onto his hand throwers, which will give enough leverage to really wing it out there, with speeds similar to an electric thrower.

I'm still using my Trius One Step on a fairly regular basis and know 2 other folks who bought one after using mine.

Regarding yoru bit about not doing the hand launcher correctly, try snapping your wrist a little at the end of the swing.

As far as Geneseo1911's comment about spring throwers throwing the same shot, you can vary it somewhat by changing the position on the arm. The other thing thing about the One Step is that since you don't hammer in the ground, if you have a second person they can move it side to side as they load it up to vary things.
