So I picked up an Israeli Hi-Power some time ago and I'm trying to figure out the time and place of birth. The serial number is 245NM08994 and matches throughout the pistol. The only Israeli marking I can find is a star of David just to the left side of the oval on the frame. The left side of the slide says "FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL BELGIQUE" so I believe this is a true FN gun, but there is no rollmark. The trigger guard has an "M on one side and what appear to be an egg or bomb on the other side. The barrel has the rest of the markings which include, an "M" with an asterisk over it, the letters "PV" with maybe a lion over them, and another egg\bomb with the letters "LG" inside them.

Any ideas?

I'll try to get some pics tomorrow.

Based on the Serial # it was built in 1990. It sounds like a typical Izzy.. like this one. What hammer does it have? Does it have an ambi safety? What kind of sights?

Pics will help.

If you got it from Coles, one of barrel markings should be his import mark.
