I have the stack on sheet metal rifle cabinet with a golden rod plugged in in a relatively moist part of the house. It’s working great and the rifles are not developing rust.

I’d like to setup the small bolt on top pistol cabinet stack on sells to make more room for pistols. I’d appreciate recommendations for plug in and forget type dehumidifiers. The top pistol cabinet is probably around 6 square feet.

Thanks

A plug in desiccant box will wok easily enough and only need recharging every few months

Plus one for plug in.

I've used the eva dry desiccant with good luck. Watch the color of media and when it changes plug in for 24 hours.

I use the small reusable silica packs.
When they turn pink, put them in the oven at 300 for 3 hours. Mine last me months at a time.

I also like to back up a dehumidifier with rust inhibitor emitters, Bullfrog or Z-Rust make the ones I tend to use. They are good for several years depending how often you open the space and how large a one you buy. May be overkill but I haven't had anything rust in my safe in decades.
