This is a heads up for Illinois CC permit holders. My CC permit expires today. My renewal application was submitted as soon as I was able to do so, but the status shows it still being under review. It's been well publicized that there are delays in the renewals being processed, and under Illinois law you can continue to carry if you have proof of submission and payment. Per the ISRA the issue you can run into is that local or county law enforcement does not have access to the ISP database and even if you present a LEO with proof of renewal, if your CC permit shows it being expired you may still be arrested and it can take up to a year to straighten out. Whether you decide to carry or not under those circumstances is up to you, but I wanted to give Illinois residents a heads up to the complications that may occur. I'm not going to carry until I receive my updated permit.

Trust ISP to screw things up. It doesn't help that the "political appointee" now in charge is the "donkey" State's Atty. from St. Clair county that lost his election bid to replace Republican Mike Bost.
As a "crony", he had to be "accommodated".

The King will give us permissions as he sees fit in a time that he chooses.. pesky citizens questioning the Kings thinking will take longer. The law says 90 days if we submit ourselves to being fingerprinted like ordinary criminals or 120 days if we don't want to, and on that 91st or 121st day they will decide to mail you permission slip to you if they so desire.
