Ok No answers yet ver in the autoloader section so I thought I'd ask here.

I'm looking at the Taurus Millenium Pro pistols for a new carry gun. Yes I did a search and the reviews are all pretty good. I looked at a couple at different gun stores and like them. Unfortunatly stores around here are limited in supply of different models.

So other than capacity and a bit of weight what is the difference between the Pro and the Pro compact? Is one doublestack and one not or is it simply grip length? The website really doesn't give alot to go on and they look almost identical.

Also any opinions as to which one I should get?

Thanks

From what I can tell the Mil Pro is a double stack and the Compact is a single stack. Barrel length is still the same 3 1/4".

The website doesnt give the measurement on the height of the Compact like the Mil Pro does.

I have handled the Mil Pro and like the way it feels.

FWIW, I would go with the double stack 10 + 1.

I am considering the PT145. I liked the fact that it held 10+1 of .45ACP, still has a decent sized grip, but it is still smaller than my PT92. The lifetime warranty also interests me.

One other thing. Dont be turned away by the past problems the original Millenium pistols have had in the past.

Expecially if your gonna get the Mil Pro series. Taurus seems to have addressed the issues with the original Millenium series and we havent heard anything bad about the Mil Pro yet.

For info on the past problems do a search here or at www.thefiringline.com/forums on the PT145.

I compared a new compact with my current MilPro and I feel it is more a question of the grip. If you like the double stack grip then stay with it - smaller hands may prefer the compact. The differences are small enough that it does not make a difference when trying to carry concealed.

Thanks all!

From everything I have found this is a real sleeper of a deal . I have a quote from my local dealer on this one for $325 which I think is pretty good. Really like to try one 1st but I don't think I can go to wrong here. Looks like this will be my next purchase. I will follow up with a review.
