I own one of the forever lasting Dillon RL1050 and was advised by one of their service people that I could cut the index part number 20312 in order to allow the opening of the press for reloading the larger rifle bullets. Up till now biggest I made was my 223 cal but I now have the need to reload the .30-06 bullets for my Remington Springfield 700.

I should have listened closer when the Dillon service man was telling me it works but does anyone know how to cut the index plate to allow the RL1050 press to open enough to reload the rifle bullets?

I have an extra index in case I screw things up so don't worry that I will totally ruin the machine. Any advice will help.

The reason .223 is the max length case you can load on an RL has nothing to do with indexing.

The eccentric on the RL simply does not allow for enough stroke for 30-06 cases. The Super uses a completely different system.

RL on left super on right.
