I have a friend at work who's uncle recently passed away and he was going through the deceased uncles things and came across a .25 ACP Dixon Detective he had left in one of his coat pockets. It looks to be in very good condition. Does anyone know anything about this particular .25 auto? Thanks in advance for any information.

The Blue Book doesn't even list it........Maybe it belonged to a guy naned Dixon, who was a Detective, and thought he was Special??????

p.s. if you can post a picture it would help.

My grandfather has one that used to be my great-grandmothers. All I know about them is that at least two exist. Look forward to hearing more.

Dixon was the name of the importer. The company imported firearms from Spain, Italy and West Germany. These were small inexpensive firearms with fancy names. I believe, but don't know for sure, that your fire arm may be a a Galesi ( Italy). Because these firearms were marketed under so many different names research based on just a posting and no picture or proof marks makes it very difficult to make a positive ID. At any rate value would be about the same. In excellent ( Like new) condition maybe 100 to 150.

If it is a Galesi you will have to figure out which Galesi company it is because there were two different ones.

There is only one Galesi, Galesi, Industria Armi, Brescia, Italy. How ever they have under gone several name changes. Rino Galesi Armi to Industria Armi Galesi, to Rigarmi di Rino Galesi. A rose by any other name is still is a Galesi. Must be hell on their marketing people to try and sell a product idenity.

There is quite a difference in quality between Armi and Rino Galesi products...what you're saying is akin to a Tasco is a Tasco which is clearly not the case!
