I've heard that some people use them to swage/jacket their own bullets. I have a box of them, all brass, sorted out of brass from indoor range... is it worth it to someone to ship or should I just take them to the recycler? I've never seen anyone selling them... maybe they're just too common.

You got a whole box of empty 22s? :D
Just at my own little shooting bench the ground has layers of empty 22s plus untold numbers of other rim fires.
Every once in a great while I get energetic and go out and rake some up to toss in my scrap brass bucket.

Those dang little 22s take a long time to build up much weight and they disappear like magic in the grass, but still worth gathering up, especially if you have a spot where they accumulate.
Brass is brass and worth recycling.

Save them up and make .22 bullets with them some day with your Rock Chuck Bullet Swager.

Or recycle them. :)

Sell them to fellow shooters, instead of the scrap pile. Some folks will pay over scrap price plus shipping. We need to stick together and help each other out anyway we can.

I had 6 almost full five gallon buckets of .22 rimfire brass and the price was $317 and change IIRC about this time last year at the recyclers. If nobody wants them for a specific use and willing to pay a fair price, I would sell them in a heartbeat.:D

May want to check out this thread, http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=703058 perticularly the forum I linked to in it. I think there are many out there who have the equipment to make .223 out of empty .22lr brass.
you might be able t trade for something you can really use. The guys on that forum are OCD about making most any caliber "Boolits" you can think of. Personally I think a lot of those guys are making jackets out of pre 84' pennies, but of course that would be "defacing currency" so maybe not. I do know they use empty .22lr brass. Good luck!
