As we all know there are Liberal Democrats in office, as well as many other anti-gun organizations that are attempting to limit our rights to various guns for various purposes. Not all groups are looking to totally remove our rights to own, and posses and use guns but obviously some are looking to even attempt to repeal our 2nd amendment rights.

Some of us gun owners will complain and whine about it but they would never get up to do anything about it even if somehow the 2A did manage to get repealed. They would turn in their guns, and be done with it.

On the other end of the scale are gun owners that would actually be willing to take up arms and actually fight in a civil war or attempt to overthrow the government in power at that time.

The vast majority of us IMHO fall somewhere between those two extremes.

Obviously at this point in time anything happening in the distant future is only speculation. Even as far as what we would personally do, or how far our government will really go “Anti-Gun”. Even I can’t begin to say what I would do in the future to fight back against any anti-gun laws, including if they attempt to repeal the 2A. It’s all speculation. I’m not here to speculate.

What I do know is that the “Pro-Gun” movement has been trending in our favor since 1988. Barring a few states like California, New York, and New Jersey and a couple of others, in regards to state gun laws. More and more states are passing more pro-gun laws then anti-gun laws. The number of permitless carry states have increased from 1 in 1988 to 17 currently, with more states on track to go permitless carry in the next few years. Texas might have gone permitless this year if it hadn’t been for a stupid idiot making threats. The point being is statewise the trend has still be in our favor despite all the mass shootings and other anti-gun idiots. Texas this year passed as many as 10 pro-gun laws and not a single anti-gun law.

So what can we do to keep things in our favor.

1. write your elected officials in all branches of government, if they are elected. Write them. This includes judges, court clerks, sheriffs etc... because even they make gun rules and regulations for various government buildings, and other government property. As well as enforce the laws rules and regulations. Even write your parks & recreation departments for your city, county and state.

2. Be willing to file a law suit to fight laws that violate our constitution. Be willing to be part of a class action suit.

3. go to rallies, protests and events. Peaceful or otherwise.

4. Become a member of Gun groups such as the NRA and many others.

5. Finally, be willing to actually fight back if and when our government over steps it’s bounds.
Personally I believe California has done just that. (Overstep it’s bounds) I’d like to see gun owners take a stronger action then they have against their state government. However I am not a California citizen, so all I can offer is moral support to them and hope that they will take a stronger stand then the one they are currently taking. But since I am not a California citizen then that’s their choice, not mine.

What I would really like to know is how many of you and how far would you go to protect the 2A?

However, I know that while some will answer that truthfully many won’t for simple fear of our government possibly reading their post and putting themselves on the radar of some state of federal watch program by some law enforcement agency. So I can fully respect that.

Plus I can respect it’s all conjecture and hypothetical cause even as I admitted earlier, we don’t know what we would do until we are that point where we have to make a decision to take it or fight back.

So what do I want from this post really? Just to make you all think, to have you consider how Important is it having a gun is to you. What are you willing to do to keep it, how much effort are you willing to give to keep it and when? Who knows maybe some of you believe they will never take our guns away, and if they do someone else will fight the battle for you.

I would like for us all to do more in the battle of gun rights before it’s all to late.

Yeah, we should fight to keep whats left of our 2nd amendment. I think getting rights back is so much tougher than keeping them.

go to rallies, protests and events. Peaceful or otherwise.
Rallies- sure
Events- yeah
Protests - meh, doesn't do anything real. Laws aren't made in the streets and disruption and nonpeaceful resistance is a tactic of the screaming irrational "other" side who shall not be named by me but i think we all know.

Please read the thread rules for Activism. https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...asis-on-work-read-this-before-posting.270671/

This is a solutions and information forum, not speculation and discussion. It is to offer real practical solutions or help refine those others present.

If you are trying to come up with an idea post in Activism Discussion.

While the 2A is the final tool of last resort for the failure of social and political methods to keep government in check, THR cannot condone advocating violence when there are still other methods open to citizens. Activism needs to focus on those other methods since our goal is to stave off getting to the point where the 2A becomes critical to apply.
