Don't make the same mistake I did!

I tried to save a couple of dollars. One of the guys at my range told me Privi Partizan brass for .308 was on sale at xxx so I went out and purchased a bag of 100 pcs. I was double stupid in purchasing 100 of their 165g SP bullets as well.

Tonight I tried loading them - what a disaster. Primers would not seat fully - pockets varied up to .003 in depth. The pockets all had to be reamed out and cleaned of burrs too. Concentricity was also out by .002 to .003 as was the diameter. Case mouths all, every one, had to be deburred on the outside (they looked like someone cut them with a hack saw) as well as chamfered on the inside. Burrs, burrs, burrs. Case length also varied by a few thousands as well. I can't wait to see how the bullets fly - I'm sure they are crap too. On top of all this I feel doubly guilty because I dodn't buy American - first time I ever did it. IO guarantee it'll be the last.

Stay away from Privi - it's worthless.

I've had excellent service from that brand in metric military calibers, never used any in U.S. commercial chamberings.

Sorry it was a disaster for you. At least you have let thousands know it did not work. Per MMCSRET, it seems the US commercial chamberings might not be the best idea. Still, good info.

Sounds like they were just military crimped cases. Not a big deal.

I had problems with the same in 223. It would stick in the die no matter how much lube you had on it.Hit and miss with this stuff some good some bad not worth the trouble to mess with.

As a standard practice, I size all new brass, no matter the caliber or manufacturer. It gets beat up in transport, even on short hauls, so I can only imagine what your brass went through travelling half way around the world. I've found it normal to have to trim and deburr new rifle brass. It's made through mass production, and gets the crap beat out of it in the process.

I've loaded a lot of Privi brass, never had a problem with any of it. Never used it in .308, though.
I also expect to have to size, trim, and deburr new brass.

I have used privi brass as well and had good success, it was actually thicker than the Norma I had sitting next to it. That said it was a bear to get through the resizing die the first time through. Once its resized it runs through pretty easy.

It's the best .303 brass I've ever used. Too bad their factory blew up.

I've used PP pistol brass with good results (once fired 9 Makarov)) but the X39 brass I loaded isn't as good as some others.

308 probably machine gun brass with loose chamber so will be 'fire formed' to larger than civilian gun chambers. Yes military brass can be a bear to re size the first time but then should be OK after that in normal chambered guns. Military brass may also be thicker than a lot of commercial brass,
