The many 32 S&W revolvers that exist could KB with a high velocity round. I have yet to see that. Using the "rimmed" 32 ACP in a 32 S&W, 32 S&W Long or even a 32-20 revolver is entirely possible. The question is, would one be safe in doing so? Should there be a list made of those revolvers that could be considered safe? I simply wonder if a S&W "Lemonsqueezer" loaded with 32 ACP Speer GDHPs would be a viable deep cover or bicycle revolver. Yes, no or BAD IDEA?

Josey, I noticed you are really interested in the idea of a .32 acp revolver. I agree it would be neat, but I dont know how practical it would be. I think the acp has higher pressue than the old s&w long cartridge, I wouln't try it in that old/small of a gun. Why not just go with a .22 mag revolver for bicycling or perhaps a kel-tec p32? Either would fit the bill for extremely lightweight carry, and be more safe, and cheaper than experimenting with old steel. If on the other hand, you just like unusual ideas, I totally understand that, and if you find out anything on the acp revolver idea, I would be curious......

I believe S&W did a run of a snubby J frame last year, that WAS a six shot .32 mag . I don't recall if it was steel or scandium/titanium, but in any case it was a neat little revolver. The j frame of course normally holds only 5 .38's, so you get an extra shot with the .32. That should meet your needs for a concealable .32

Potential headspace problem when firing .32 ACP in .32 S&W or .32 S&W Long revolver. Smaller at the semi rim and often goes in past the star.

Interesting idea but not recommended.

Sam

Back when I was in High School I bought a .32 revolver from our church janitor. It was a Forehand & Wadsworth Safety Hammer Double Action.
It looked a lot like a H&R Young American.

I paid the huge sum of $15 for it. It was loaded with a mixture of 1 Winchester .32 S&W Long (with the old orange coloured Lubaloy bullet) 3 Rem-UMC .32 S&W Longs and 2 Western .32 ACPs. It also came with a Belknap Hardware brown papoer bag full of assorted .32 cartridges. .32 S&W, .32 S&W Long, .32acp and a few .32 Long Colt.

The .32 ACP ammo would bulge upon firing so I stopped shooting them after about 2 dozen. Besides I could shoot them in my Browning 1900 copy and my Mother's Sauer 38H.

I later had several more modern Iver Johnson break-open and S&W swingout revolvers and shot them mostly with .32ACP because I could get it much cheaper. There was a lot of European surplus 7.65 available in the late 60s and 70s.
I never had a problem with it but I wouldn't recommend it in anything that wasn't chambered in .32 S&W Long. I'd also be very careful about using ACP in anything pre-war.

OK. I have a S&W Model 30 flatlatch revolver chambered for 32 S&W Long. I guess it will either sit empty until I find 32 S&W Long locally or I get the OK from my gunsmith for 32 ACP.

If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't care what your gunsmith said - shoot only ammo in a gun it is designed for. Also, a S&W leamon squeezer is an old old gun. Best retire it and carry something made from modern quality materials.

Just my opinion.
