Lucked onto an original Model 52 Winchester today. Old original style with barrel band, ladder rear sight, aperture front. Only problem is that it was restocked. Bore bright and perfect, action good, price was completely fine considering the non-original stock.
Now to find original type target bases and a decent target scope. Will try it out this afternoon with several kinds of match ammo and the irons, despite my seventy-six year old eyes. Aperture front and rear and all I have to see is the bull.
Excitement after a long dull Rona shutdown.
This one is a 1926. My first was a 1925 and has a 6X Lyman target scope from that era. Shot it in the smallbore league at Peoria Armory. Against $1500 Anschutzs and others. About 1976
