I am considering buying a new revolver for SD. I'm leaning towards the Ruger SP-101. The only thing that I really dislike about it is that it's only offered in stainless. The Target Grey I would've liked, but I don't think (not sure really) they were ever produced in that finish. If they were, they're not now.

So my question is this...How well does the Duracoat finish stick to Satin Stainless Steel? I don't want something that is going to start peeling off in a few months/years. If Duracoat is not compatible with SS, is there another DIY finish that is?

Thanks in advance,
Wyman

You might consider a quality bead blast finish which looks very good on the SP-101 and maintains the durability of stainless steel with a softer "duller" look.
