i think eddies hiding it under the front mount, the screws for the mount were sure tight being on for 40 years or so i starting to strip the heads even heating them up with a propane torch so i would have to drill them out screwing up the mount threads in the process, to much work too see them:confused: i gave up:oops: the base was flat and level perfect to mount a rail job on it so i just did it:evil:
if you decide to remove the screws via drill. use a bit just large enough to completely take the head off when it gets to the shank of the screw. pull the base then the screws should come out easily, unless of course they were cross threaded on the way in.

the 4 x old banner scope was a pain in the:fire: as* i did what you said drill out the head on the rings still wouldnt come apart lock tight maybe? or frozen, so i took out the too two side screws to the mount that hold the rear of the scope in swivel like this

hit it with a hammer and it brook loose, came right off:thumbup: then i look how flat it was like photo above and said hey i can slap a rail right on the mount . so i drilled and put screws in a jb welded the bottom it done
this way is wierd:barf: ?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftse4.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DOIP.jpg looking didnt like that route

I always shot 165/168s in my 06s, I switched to 180s in my last one tho. At shorter ranges the 165 class are probably the sweet spot.

update eddies witt machine muzzle break is done milled out in the mail heading in my dirrection:thumbup:

shot a .300 with one of those attached, and it worked pretty well, tho admittedly every time I touched it off I expected to see the brake follow the bullet down range lol.

a set of lows should bring the scope down to a reasonable level.

the reviews never say they had it fly off and i put one witt machine on a bull barrel howa 308 earlier this year so far never heard the guy say he sent it too the target :uhoh:

Most likely paranoia on my part, and the brake did work, tho the weight of the Howa helps suck considerable oomph out of the .300

got these comming in the mail soon ?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ebayimg.com%2Fimages%2Fg%2FGYwAAOSwa~BYZKwZ%2Fs-l300.jpg to bring it down more level btw shot eddie 350 yards 9 shots and zero it in friday no video, it was dusk to dark and to late to set up cameras it was right on at 350:thumbup: yards even with the taller mounts ?? seems like the longer throat and free bore for eddie isnt a problem and the 165 match rounds seem to be better then the 178 amax extended in the throat?
