The magazine on my No1 MkIII Enfield is experiencing feeding problems. I have been adjusting the lips, trying to adjust the fit between the follower and the body, a little polishing here and there, etc. It now feeds so-so. But the last round won't feed. The follower won't push the back of the round up high enough for the bolt to push the round forward.

In my experience with 1911 mags I just bought new stiffer springs and went shooting. Enfield springs are pinned to the follower and are not to be found anywhere on the 'net.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Most feeding problems are the problem of the magazine so they are replaced. In the case of the LEE ENFIELD the mag is to be left in the gun, so if you can not fix your present mag with a few tweaks, replace it. Frequent benting of the mag lips is not going to help, in the long run they will be softer and bent out of shape easier. If you are having trouble locating a mag spring, just go for a whole mag . I'm sure they are available at SARCO ( www.sarcoinc.com ) or from MARSTAR ( www.marstar.ca ) although in CANADA they advertise in SHOTGUN NEWS and the CANADIAN dollar is WORTHLESS compared to the U.S. dollar ,so you get a better deal GOOD LUCK.
