I carry my Bulgarian Makarov in a DeSantis Superfly in my strong side front pocket. There's no good place to put the magazine, though, until it occurred to me that I could strap the mag to the flap on the holster. I stopped at Wal-Mart on my way home from work and picked up a loop of black elastic material about 3/4" wide. I "prototyped" it into place with staples just to see if it would work, I'll stitch it in now that I've proven that it works and I like it. A bonus is that it helps break up the shape of the pistol even more than the holster alone.

ooooh. I like that holster and your mod. Where'd you get the holster?
I picked it up online somewhere. The SuperFly seems to be harder to find in retail stores than the Nemesis, the only difference between the two is that the SuperFly has the velcro-attached flap to minimize printing in the pocket. I pocket carry either the Bulgarian Makarov or a Polish P64, they both fit the same pocket holster (which is listed in their catalog as fitting a J-frame revolver and a PPK/PPS). The same mod works perfectly for the P64 magazine also, and there's no reason it shouldn't work for the PPK but I don't own one to try it out.

Nice idea. Does the magazine get in the way of gripping the gun when you draw it?

Doesn't look like there is much room for fingers between the mag and the gun.

Have you considered that the magazine isn't going to come out of the loops if you try to pull it up out of your pocket?

Wouldn't having the bottom of the mag facing up be more logical?

The chance or needing a reload in a SD is about nil . Having it in you pocket and attached to your pocket holster if you have taken cover and kneeling is going to be very hard to get. Standing in open and reloading not a good idea either. . I did a similar mod to a pocket holster a few years ago then realized .The drawbacks and that you will likely never need a reload.. I carry a spare mag in a folding knife sheath on the belt now. If I believe my main gun might need a reload. Pocket gun has what it has.

Use the nylon knife sheath You can reach from any position Just my 02

I just ordered one of these for my J-frame. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet though.

I'd flip that mag around, bullets down. Enclose the bullet end if need be to keep out lint.

If the mag is oriented as your pictures show GOOD LUCK GETTING THE MAG OUT, especially if taking fire. The magazine base will catch on the elastic loop. At best, you'll pull the whole thing out and still have to get the magazine free.
