I was playing around with a bunch of spare parts in the safe and cobbled together my 870 with slug barrel, b-square mount and the XPS-2 off my M4... Don't get me wrong, it looked silly as hell, especially with wood furniture. But it got me thinking, since we deer hunt a lot of thick brush and usually are within 35-50 yards, that it might be a pretty lethal setup. Any thoughts?

If you want a cleaner setup, Burris makes a Fastfire and mount just for shotguns. It mounts between the reciever and stock, so no drill and tap job.

If 35 yards is average why bother with optics? Hey! Hey Deer, stop running so i can find you in my optics.

Yes it would work just fine...any y use optics..well considering that the eotech is not a scope and is made fore shooting closer and faster and gives u a higher probability of accuracy than open sights its a no brainer for me..im putting one on a 458 socom for that same purpose

I was thinking the same thing at first, one would think it would help with getting on target quicker.

Put the red dot on your gun. Then go shoot a round of skeet. If you miss save your extra shots for the #8 station. The #8 station is about real time for running game. No cheating! Shoot the skeet before it passes you.

i shot a round of trap with my rem 1187 turkey gun with a 512 eotech and shot a 21 at the 16yd line. several other people tried it and also hit very easy with it. it may look alittle funny, but it works well. eastbank.
