Mr. Becker dropped into ETO (the shop I reviewed the other day) on Friday with several bags of "goodies". Those included some familiar items and 4 new knives of his that KaBar is going to produce and a new "old" KaBar that a distributor has a special run made up by KaBar. Lots of stories were told by all and much fondling of cutlery took place.
Three new 4.5" fixed blades were played with. Ethan's favorite is his version of a bushcraft knife since his focus is heavily on bushcraft. The manager at ETO loved the new smaller version of Ethan's Magnum Camp. One of the store employees liked the clip. Sounds like the bases were covered.
KaBar is coming out with new version of Ethan's Machaxe that he's tweaked. Feels like a chopping machine, but I'll have to wait to put it up against some of my other choppers before I can really have an informed opinion. Feels good, anyway.
Blue Ridge Knives had KaBar come up with a leather stack washer handled repro of the old USN MkI. Some people think the MkI was the best utility knife ever. Not surprising considering it is a short handy fixed blade utility design that is built tough for military service. Good looking/feeling knife.
