I'm looking to add to my list of shotshell recipes. I already have Lyman's Shotshell Reloading thanks to the recommendations of posters here. I'm not looking for info on how to reload, I'm more interested in the recipes themselves. Specifically, I shoot 12 ga 2-3/4" shells and I have stacks of empty Federal Gold Medal, Estate and Nobel hulls as well as 8#'s of Alliant's e3 powder. I have plenty of recipes for the Federal stuff, but nothing for Estate or Nobel hulls using e3. Does anyone know of a good book that will have this info or just a good comprehensive recipe list? Thanks in advance.

Alliant powder guide has a lot of up to date shotgun data in it.

Get one sent free here:

Sometimes, you can't find specific data for obscure brands of hulls.

What you can do is cut one in half lengthwise and compare the internal construction & volumn to a known brand hull.

If it measures the same inside, it is the same for all practical purposes.

I only use Alliants powders for shotgun and have been very pleased. I mainly use Red dot for light loads and Blue dot for heavy loads.

Thanks rc, I think I will chop one of each in half and compare. I looked at the alliant info online and they don't have anything in my powder/primer combo. I assume that the free data book doesn't contain anything that their website doesn't have. I think I'll pick up the RCBS manual while I'm at it.

As a side note ALL the propellant companys have that FREE resource book. All it takes is a land line or typing at there site. I like paper copies at least as a backup. Also go to the Balistic Products website they have some data sheets on those oddball hulls and their loadings. I got the data sheets, fold out 8.5x11 info for some inexpensive price while looking for data using brass casings and fiber wads and such. They also sell Fiocchi hulls.
