Hey guys:

I was wondering if you had any recommendations for cost effective & good quality .44 Mag & .44 spcl loads (I know the two don't always go together). I'm going to be moving in the coming months so hand loading is out.

Thanks in advance for the tips; I've always stuck with .357 mag & .22 revolvers but figured it's about time to do something new.

Btw I'm new to this forum (not shooting), and it's nice to meet such knowledgeable people.

Winchester white box 44mag is a surprisingly solid loading. It might be a little old school, but performs well and isn't too expensive.

I'm a fan of the Speer 200gr Golddot load in the specials. Mostly I shoot my own handloads though.

What do you want to use them for?
For the .44 special it will be just run of the mill target. For the .44 Mag it'll be for target and longer distance silhouette (probably a Max of 100yrds).

Thanks!

Winchester 'white box' 240gr jsp is a good choice for general use up to deer.

If you want cowboy loads in your 44 mag that shoot like a special. try HSM. https://ammoliquidator.com/hsm-44m1...ound-nose-flat-point-box-50-total-rounds.html

HSM also has a plated load. http://usarmorment.com/ammunition-c...-180-gr-jsp-l44mg7-500-round-case-p-2233.html

If you want something hotter, try http://usarmorment.com/ammunition-c...-180-gr-jsp-l44mg7-500-round-case-p-2233.html

Anytime you get under 50 cents a round for loaded 44 magnum you are doing alright.

Great thanks for the info!

The Winchester white box 240gr.JSP is also good for whitetail deer in the magnum loadings BTW. I know as I've ended up using them in UP Michigan on whitetail.
