I am going to be working several flea markets, local festivals, and county fairs this summer. When I did this a few years ago it was extremely hot.

I am looking for advice on how to concealed carry my Glock 19. I have a very nice iwb holster, but it does not really do the job with just a large t-shirt.

Any ideas?

I was even considering looking for an ankle holster and taking my wife's smith & wesson 38spl.

I just don't know.

When I say fat man, I mean I am 5'7" and weigh 235lbs I have a nicely developed beer belly that limits some of my options. With a couple holsters I tried, my love handles pushed the grip away from my body

heavier bigger tshirt, smaller gun.

i'm a 6', 240, and am working on making the gut smaller. i carry exclusively with Kramer "MSP" paddles. Big gun to small, it's very easy to carry with these and, depending upon the gun, easy to hide with a larger tshirt.

(BTW, note Fatman's shirt.)

I thought you were describing me at work...
Fanny pack? Very light button up shirt over a t-shirt, shoulder holster? Oversize t-shirt in a break up pattern - that's what I use in AZ summers.
Dress in drag and use a holster purse? Sorry, couldn't help that one...

This is great advice. Thank you all.

I was really hoping for more specific advice on holster options. What style, brand, location on the body, etc.

Thank you

i hear you brother

i'm 6' and > 280#. i CCW a G19 and settled on a Comp-Tac M http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=95

why?

1) IWB
2) kydex for shape on gun, but leather against my skin
3) belt loops spread wide for stability
4) belt loops not on main holster area (less to make that part thicker)
5) belt loops are interchangable (i got another color and thickness too)

waist 44", i'm not proud of that side shot physique :) but i figured i'd post for the sake of info since that seems what you're looking for, real world experience with your situ. I tried a few other holsters before i settled on this one, it's solid and very wearable, easily 8-10 hrs with it on at a stretch. this one is height adjustable - see the holes in the clips? so you can make the handle fit where you want in relation to your 'curves' LOL it's nice, give it a try.

I'm 5'10 and 270. I carry a G19 in a Gunmate IWB "holster". I call it a "holster", because its just a fabric sack sewn in the shape of a gun outline with a metal clip on it. Its one step away from Mexican carry, really. I spent $7 on it five years ago and it's still my go-to holster. Put the holster where it feels comfy for you.

I wear 3X button down shirts, untucked, (one size larger than necessary). Works for me. I try to make the shirts as loud as possible, with the intention being that the crazy patterns will be a camouflage of sorts if anyone takes a good look at me. I've never been made (at least to my face).

I'm 6'6" and about 315 pounds (real big fella). I have the same problem with my Glock 32 IWB in a summer comfort (IIRC-not sure of holster name). I'm going to try out the Comp Tac M that hak recommended. Oddly enough, when I carry a fullsize 1911 IWB with my Galco Royal Guard holster, I have no problems. Lately it hasn't been much of an issue, though. I've been carrying my G32 in a SERPA paddle with a cover garment.

I'm 6'1" and a bit over 255 pounds. Bear in mind that I live in Ohio which does not have any rules regarding printing or uncovering a CCW and in fact open carry is legal here.

I ccw a Sig 239 IWB with a Galco thumb-break IWB; it is best hidden (depending on weather) with an untucked buttonup shirt over a tucked in tee-shirt. I buy my buttonup shirts either 2XL or XL-Tall whichever is available, and prefer the XL-Tall because of the longer tail.

If it is cooler, a tucked in regular shirt with a hoody with about half the zipper zipped.

Also a trucker's vest works too but that shouts "CCW!" to me.

Honestly I often just stick the Sig in a Don Hume JIT slide OWB and let a jacket or shirt fall over it and to hell with anyone seeing it. 90% of people don't even realize you're carrying when you have a full-size .45 on your hip uncovered.

BTW, note the shirt
I know someone CCWs a lot, and he collects shirts like that. I think the 2 are related, so maybe try a shirt like that.

And you could always try and lose a little bit of weight. Even a little bit can make a difference, doesn't need to be a lot. It will probably be a lot better for you than CCW will.

I have no problems what so ever. My holster only cost about $15 and when I'm out and about no one could tell that I'm carrying. The shirt (like all the shirts that I own) is about a size or two bigger than what I really have to wear. When I carry, I don't feel uncomfortable with it. I forgot the maker but you can find holsters like mine on Ebay and other holster websites.

what about this

I just received my "cel pal" holster and have been carrying my glock 30 for a few days! It is very concealing but slow to draw ! but faster than a fanny pack !Kevin

can you open carry at certain places? There are some laws that say you can open carry at your job without even a license. Check, cause if you are working these flea markets I am pretty sure that counts as work.

It wouldn't be the first time cops carried away someone for perfectly legal open carry. Open carry should be legal everywhere as our constitutional right. But its not. Gotta play by the crooked rules.

Don't open carry. It just makes you the first and easiest target to take out. Don't even have to engage an open carry target, just scream "he's got a gun" and your basically screwed.

Get the Mtac, It ain't gonna get much better.

I've been in a situation where I was glad I was open carrying. Three thugs thought I had a nice truck, and they wanted it. As they started coming around the side of my truck in the parking lot, my gun came into view which had previously been blocked from my truck. They never came within 15yds of me before going the opposite way, and I didn't even have to reach for my gun.

They didn't shoot me first because I was OCing, they didn't say anything that would have gotten anyone else to scream about my gun either. Lots of these myths about OC are just plain not true and have never happened. I'm both pro CC and pro OC. Just depends on the situation I'm in and how I feel. Now that's freedom!

I agree with you, MTAC for concealed carry is hard to beat from what I've heard.
