I remember the first time I loaded mine up with righteous .357s and started lighting them off.

Round one: I actually stopped, unloaded it and checked for damage.... "Sweet baby Hey-sus! That can NOT be the way it was designed to act!!!"

Round two: Yup, I guess I'll just have to get used to it.

Round three: I wonder how long that stinging is gonna last.

Round four: Some day, in my old age, I'll be cursing my younger self for this.

Round five: NOW.... after all these years, I think I understand .38 +P and +P+!

Still have it but I learned about self-abuse and the return/reward/penalty play on this pistol.

Todd.
Had that same experience with a 60-15.

I never subscribed the the, “carry often, shoot little” school of thought, but damn if my 340PD hasn’t changed my philosophy to just that .....

Full size Revolver - S&W Model 686 in .357 Magnum of course
Full size semi - auto - Sig P226 in .357 Sig and also in 9MM
Carry size revolver - S&W Model 649 in .357 Magnum
Carry size semi - auto - Glock 26 in 9MM
Big Game Hunting Revolver and Bear Protection - Ruger Super Redhawk in .44 Magnum

As far as the carry size auto, I am currently looking real hard at a Sig 365.

Future full size auto could be a Sig 320, that pistol looks very interesting as far as the frame and cartridge options.

Dang, I like 'em all. This topic has brought out my gun greed status.

I carry a GLOCK 42 which after factory updating has never failed.

I think the FN FiveSeven with a 20 or 30 round magazine gives you AR capability in a side arm.

I would LOVE to own a Colt 1st or 2nd generation SAA. I was reading about the real life western "bad guys" in a Six Gun paperback and it was so interesting. (think I will have to settle for Uberti)

It's situational and complicated.
My overall favorite is my old battered SBH .44 mag.
Everything else - depends on the conditions and my mood at the time.

I've always loved the S&W New Model 3 in .44 Russian but I would be afraid to shoot one much given the difficulty maintaining it.
I have however been blessed with the opportunity to fire one a few times. The replicas I've examined are dimensionally incorrect.

Ruger Redhawk in 41 mag... it was my grandfathers . Also my Springfield XD 40. just because it was my first centerfire handgun which really got me hooked on shooting handguns

Try .38 spec full wad cutters, that will make it a favorite again.
