Last night there was a TV show (Discovery Channel?) which was more or less a puff piece on the FBI. I clicked to it in the middle just as the FBI spokesmen were congratulating themselves on getting an "illegal rifle" off the streets. From what I could see, it looked like a pre-1950, bolt action, military rifle. Did anyone see the show and remember what kind it was? Or why it was illegal? I suspect it was illegally owned by a felon which is hardly the same thing.
They make deal about what a powerful cartridge it shoots, and how it could defeat body armor. Duh.
I try to have a lot of respect for these guys and law enforcement in general, but they do stretch the truth a lot.
