Feel like my constitutional rights are being infringed.

Actually, there are two FN pistols listed on the CA Roster of Handguns. If you have one of them, then you just need to get some 10 round magazines.
  • Fabrique Nationale FN Five-seveN (Black) Steel; Polymer Pistol 4.75" 5.7x28mm
  • Fabrique Nationale FN Five-seveN (FDE) Steel; Polymer Pistol 4.75" 5.7x28mm

Thankfully the Supreme Court doesn't agree with you.

I'll give you this visual aide to help you out.

Isn’t It convenient to be able to say the words mean what they mean except when they don’t? Does that not bother you? So you believe the SC makes the rules when it ignores the militia clause, but not when it allows attacks on the non-infringement clause. Why do you not disagree with the SC ignoring the militia clause? Because of self interest, of course. This isn’t about what the Constitution says, it is about you getting exactly what you want, no more or less.

I always understood it “to protect the people FROM the state, as a nation”.....

The very overreach that’s becoming prevalent in our nation is exactly WHY we have the Bill of Rights. All is lost the second we give up defending them.
You understood it wrong.

Welcome friend.
Your rights are most certainly not in tact, my advice is to avoid states that prohibit your god given rights. Im from illinois which is nearly as bad as NJ. I would recomend you skip this state as well, chicago is horrible and the rest is farmland so you would be missing... nothing.
Maybe someday we can reclaim our rights from the powers that be, but for now stay legal, stay safe and stay alert. Thanks for your service, even if our elected officials dont recognize your sacrifice and allow you defend yourself anywhere you may wander. At the very least feel good that you live in the finest nation ever to exist.
There is that god-given thing again. If that were true, wouldn’t all countries have Bills of Rights? No, the thought processes that led to the Bill of Rights were widely believed at the time to be godless. The Age of Reason was considered to be a rejection of God, not an embrace of it. You have no natural right to KBA, only what man gives you.

Sir ,i disagree.
We are born with rights, the constitution / bill of rights simply protects them. Other countries dont have a bill of rights because they are not free countries, theyre what this country will become if a certain faction has their way.

@rpenmanparker

I thought what you originally wrote was a typo but you’re defending it so obviously it was not.

I’m about to drive to Ohio so I can’t provide a well researched response but I’ve honestly never heard the 2nd A interpreted the way you interpreted it. Obviously you have no obligation to, but can you steer me in the right direction regarding what you read or studied that led you to that conclusion? I am curious and before I write a response explaining the Bill of Rights vs State/Federal Law I’d like to try and understand it from your perspective.

That Bill of Rights is literally what separates us from everyone else. It formed the very culture that we now have; and also explains why it’s hard for people from other countries to understand why we have these massive fights over gun control among other things. We are different and that’s because we started differently.

But I am genuinely (not patronizing) curious as to how you came to believe what you do.

I have not read the whole thread but as a side note. If you plan on driving to NJ, and your Florida Registered vehicle has TINTED windows, just that you will be breaking the law and be pulled over and FINED.

NJ is such a nice place to not visit!

@Rule3

You’re kidding?!?!?!

Yes I have dark tint, in compliance with Florida law. So you’re saying that not only do I need to store my weapon in Pennsylvania, but I need to get a rental car as well? On the bright side I can rent a little compact car and eliminate my $700 a month gas bills. 4x4 Hemi Jeeps are thirsty for mid grade.

Edit-I’m IN New Jersey.....leaving shortly. Also wanted to add, I’ve driven past, parked next to and even said hello to easily two dozen NJ State Troopers since arriving. I’ve never had problems with police and in my entire life can only think of two or three that were generally unpleasant But everyone has a bad day from time to time. Anyway, NJST has had plenty of opportunities to cite me but they were as friendly as can be.

No I am not kidding. New York has slightly more lenient laws on tinting, but folks that commute between NY and NJ often get gigged for their window tint.!! (it all varies by State and the LEO who may or may not feel like stopping you.)

This is all over the place. Here's the bottom line. The OP should read and follow the laws of the USA and the state that he is traveling through. One can complain about it in your cell and hope Kavanaugh convinces the rest of the Court to take your case in several years from now as you argue your world view of the Constitution, natural rights, theology and whatever.

The tint on this is increasing to closure. Surprise.

Closed.
