can 3f Goex black powder be used to reload rifle ammo, specifically 45 70 ?

I have excess powder

3f powder

That's all I use for my 45/70 Sharps.
Use a drop tube for best results.
I still have to pack the powder down in the loading press.
There is a lot of reloading info on the net for 45/70.

Blasphemy!

Surely someone could put it to better use than that! Holy Black is for Holy Smoke, not Holly plants.

Yes 3f can work exceedingly well in the 45-70. The biggest draw back is you'll need to watch the fouling control in hot dry weather, as 3f will foul out quicker than 2f if you let the fouling get ahead of you.
Start with just enough powder to make firm contact with the base of the bullet and work up in charge weight from there until you find the accuracy/velocity you want.
