I read all that info as well, but I have a Kimber Eclipse Target II that I will put up against any other 1911. It is even better than my "series I".
The info was very interesting, and it had me taking apart my eclipse to really scrutinize the workmanship. I can't find anything less than perfect other than the MIM parts, which I will be replacing, slowly, with Ed Brown parts. The barrel is perfect with no rust or pitting inside or out. I've yet to have a FTF or FTE in over 1000 rounds. It is possible that Kimber totally sucks and it takes a real idiot to buy one, but until I get a bad one myself, I will keep buying them.
BTW, I never buy new guns anyway, and the guy that I buy and sell guns to is the range owner and an excellent gunsmith. I think new Kimbers are way overpriced. A used Kimber can be found between $500 - 700. My eclipse was $669 used as opposed to $1199 new. If I'm an ignorant idiot for loving Kimbers, then ignorance really is bliss.
