Sorry that I didn't get any pictures, but I finally redeemed myself after missing a doe at 15 yards. Tuesday afternoon I had 2 does come in and I had a beautiful broadside shot. I pulled back and thought that I should hold low because I had about a 45 degree angle. I just cut the hair off of her chest. Kicked myself for 2 days. This afternoon I decided to sweat it out so I climbed a tree in my climber and sat for 30 minutes in the 85 degree heat. My GPS has the Solunar Tables and it read that the Good time was 5:49-6:49. At 6:00 a doe slipped by at about 25 yards but was in the brush. Then about 5 minutes later 2 came right to my tree. The lead doe smelled where I had walked in and spooked about 15 yards and stopped. I had a hole in the leaves to shoot through about the size of a paper plate. After the shot she didn't go 30 yards. I watched her go down. Then I dodged deer on the road all the way to my home. Had 2 run in front of me and one standing in the ditch. It was quite and evening.

I got her quartered and on ice. That is the only problem with these early bow seasons. A deer will soar overnight if you don't take care of them.

Congrats! I have yet to see a deer so far this season. I'm glad you broke the ice.
I am blessed. The farm that I am hunting is a zoo. I usually see anywhere from half a dozen to 25 head a day. Yesterday I hunted 2 hours and saw 7. Tuesday I put in 3 hours and saw 14. Makes up for all of the years that I hunted 30 days to see 5.
