Eighteen of twenty-four kids showed up for practice #1 this morning. Fifty birds at 16 yards. Half newcomers (not to the USA), some in second, third, fourth year.
Love these kids. Coachable. Interested. Having fun. Safe.
My son, four other club members and I are the coaches. Scores today ranged from 10 to 43.
They will steadily improve. One girl, fifteen, also shoots action pistol and placed third in the nation for women at Bianchi Cup. Second in juniors. I have high hopes for her.

24 shooters last night. Half dozen in the forties. A couple of guns that need to be retired. Bolt action Stevens with an adjustable choke, pitted chamber, and weak extractor. Had to use a rod half the time. Mossberg made Wards pump, pinned, glued and wired stock, tire sidewall for a buttpad, C-Lect choke. Some nice ones also.

My grandson started this year first, first time he shot a one. Dad called grandpa, a former certified instructor. Fitted a couple shotguns, found one that fit. I gave him basic form instruction and some practice routines. A few weeks in he shot a 41. I am happy for him.

Last week we had a fifty, 49, 48, 47, couple of 46s a few more in the 40s. Also had a 12. My granddaughters had 41, 38.
