It is against the law to purchase a firearm while under indictment.
Have to have a lawyer comment on keeping what you have before conviction.

Of course he is not a sympathetic person and society is better off with his guns seized, which furthers the anti's argument for the "red flag" provision.

Very confusing article.

He was convicted of refusing to “voluntarily” surrender his guns. So it is a crime to refuse to voluntarily turn your guns over to the Police. Does this mean that the Police can go door-to-door asking citizens to voluntarily give them their guns or they will be arrested for failing to do so?

"after his arrest in March 2018 on charges of firing six shots at a vehicle being driven by his best friend, according to reports."

Imagine how he treats his enemies...

I'm taking the radical right wing stance and waiting for him to be convicted of a real crime before we steal his guns away from him.

Or should I be like:

He was accused and that's good enough for me. Glad his guns are "off the street". Anyone accused of a crime should be stripped of their guns until it gets sorted out.

Talk about "Prid Quo Pro."

I'm confused. I thought it was already illegal for a person charged with a felony to possess firearms, what does the red flag law have to do with it?

I don't get it either. The so-called "red flag" laws are designed to identify people who represent a threat to society and to take their guns before they can act on their perceived predispositions to violence. Jerron Smith's alleged proclivity for violence has already been documented. How does/did the "red flag" law play any role in this circumstance?

So, a neighbor "said he was a veteran" so let's run with that right off the top. If you're charged with a crime, does that automatically exclude you from possession?
I'm not defending this guy, but, if "They" can take your Rights away because of allegations by anyone, we're in serious trouble
Note the Media frenzy over the recent shooting in Pensacola that the perpetrator "Watched videos of other Mass Shootings" If you think "They're" not going to use this as a way to censor what you are "allowed" to view, you're very, very wrong, I'm afraid.
The MSM, as we know, will use ANY form of disinformation to sway those who believe their "reporting"

Let's watch out how the case proceeds before we decide he is victim of a red flag law.
