Got to go out yesterday for my first squirrel hunt this year. It was an overcast somewhat windy day; not the best conditions here in NE Kansas. After walking and sitting for most for the afternoon, we saw very little game of any kind and zero squirrels. The wind died down toward evening and game became abundant in the last hour before sunset including 3 squirrels. My buddy got two shots and made 2 fine head shots. I had only one opportunity and missed....rats! But, it was still a great day that I managed squeeze in between storms and cold. Cold windy weather coming tomorrow. Time to sit at the reloading bench and prepare to shoot other critters.

I'll be stacking those rodents up after deer season is over. Half the pics on my trail cams are stupid squirrels stealing the corn. A couple days ago I had 11 in 1 picture.

Damn things are eating my cedar porch. Yesterday I put my old 20g Ithaca model 37 next to the front door and a box of 6 shot next to it. Throughout the day I shot 5 squirrels with 5 shots. (One crawled off into the woods by the creek.) All without putting my boots on.
