:)I don't know if this has been posted here but I wanted to share, It's not BS, my wife did it.

Average time for your CCW to arrive is 7 days. Some have gotton theirs in as little as 3 days and the longest I've heard was 10 days.

1. Make an appointment by contacting any regional offices below.
2. Once you arrive at the regional office, you will complete your CWFL application on their computer.
3. You will need to show proof that you completed a ccw course or other proof as outlined in F.S. 790.06 License to carry concealed weapon or firearm (2) (h) 1-7.
4. You will need to provide payment of the $117.00.
5. You will have your fingerprints taken via livescan.
6. You will have your a digital photograph taken of your beautiful mug.
7. You will sign and the staff member will notarize your application.

Approximate time to complete 30 minutes.

Just a quick note, as long as your DD214 shows a firearm badge you are exempt from having to take a firearm safety course. A lot of places that offer the course neglect telling you that, you can most likely guess why.

My wife and I got ours in 6 days.

I don't know if you have to be a resident but you do have to be here since you have to go to one of the regional offices.

ALso want to add:

The $117 must be check or money order, no cash/debit/credit.
You also need you drivers license.
The proof of completing the CCW class should be a copy, they keep whatever document you bring in to prove you took the class.

How long does Arlington VA take?

How long does it take in Arlington VA? I don't have one and I am curious.

...as long as your DD214 shows a firearm badge you are exempt from having to take a firearm safety course...

Any DD214 documenting military service is adequate.

790.06 License to carry concealed weapon or firearm.

(2) The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services shall issue a license if the applicant:

(h) Demonstrates competence with a firearm by any one of the following:

5. Presents evidence of equivalent experience with a firearm through participation in organized shooting competition or military service;

See FL statute:

I just got my FL permit, it took 24 days. I thought that was good, because I heard rumors it was taking up to three months. And it's good for seven years now instead of five...mine says it doesn't expire until 2016.

wow, i guess it just keeps getting better down here :) i was exempt (academy) from the course, i got mine in like '95 '96 it took almost ALL the 90 DAYS and was only good for 3yr (IIRC).

my first wife's app got kicked back because she left "occupation" blank.

sounds like they've improved the process, considerably, that's awesome.

Just moved past the 120-day mark and nothing yet. Sent in my Utah one at the same time and received that about a month ago.

sounds like they've improved the process

When you go to the regional office it is very organized. Everything is inputted into the computer so no room for blanks or mistakes really. The girls there actually seemed as they enjoyed their job also. Mine took 5 business days.

Same for my FL renewal. Just inside of 2 weeks although I did have to send a second print card back.

pushing 9 weeks here in CT for me

Only 6 weeks for me here in Naugatuck.
