I recently ordered a DSA STG58 and chose the flash hider instead of the muzzle brake. I know it's too late now, but which option is preferable?

Brakes offer more recoil reduction but creates more noise, flash suppressors offer more flash reduction but do little to cut recoil. On a side note, we make a hybrid that does both.

The flashider will work just fine, the fal is gas operated and there isn't much of an issue with the recoil. Plus, you'll be able to mount a bayonet to your Fal. My Vanburg built Fal has a silver soldered muzzlebrake. It was built during the ban years and I didn't like the look of a naked barrel so I went with the muzzlebrake, however it is very..very loud. Flashider = good!
