I received this from the NRA. Here's a short snippet of what it's about. Our legislators need to hear from us.

S782, introduced by pro-gun State Senator Doug Berger (D-7), is scheduled to be heard in the Senate Commerce Committee on Tuesday, April 21, at 11:00 AM. This legislation would eliminate the requirement that law-abiding citizens acquire a permit to purchase a pistol from their local sheriff before they may lawfully acquire any pistol. NRA strongly supports this legislation, and it is our primary legislative objective for this session. There are numerous problems with this law, both in how it is written, and how it has been implemented.

Let me get this correctly.
(1) In the State of North Carolina, you currently must obtain a permit before an individual may procure handgun?
(2)There is a Bill before the legislature to null that requirement?
(3)The NRA is against said Bill?
That doesn't make since!!
I suggest you review the Bill for it's complete contents. I suppose that you folkes in NC can do that on the internet; we can in Tennessee. Aftger your review act accordingly based on your understanding and belief.
Take nothing for granted. The NRA is IMHO not neccessarily a friend. They make their living from lobbing; and they scratch the back of the one that scratches their's. Some think the the NRA and AARP, the RED CROSS, the UNITED WAY and others are right up there next to God in heaven, but it taint so.
