For most of my 29 year career until I retired with the State of Iowa, I worked as a Veteran's Rep. helping Veterans with jobs, Veterans Benefits, etc.. The following is for informational purposes only, you make up your own mind, and I am not an employee or affliliated with or receiving any compensation whatsoever from the company.

With today's firearm prices, it takes no time at all to have a gun collection worth five or ten thousand dollars or more, and most household insurance companies only insure firearms up to $2500-$5000 without paying for a special rider. This company only insures current Military Members or Veterans and their household insurance rates are comparable to other companies I have checked or been insured by. What is unique is that this company insures your firearm collection for full value up to the property value of your household insurance, in other words, if you have $100,000 insurance for example on the contents of your house, your firearms collection is now insured for full value up to $100,000,,,and they don't charge anything extra for it. I have not had a claim with them, and they do not ask for any information about your firearm collection, however I have a detailed inventory list of my firearms including proof of purchase and a video tape that I keep in a safety deposit box in case I would have to file a claim due to fire or theft and have to prove the purchase of each individual firearm. With my gun safe and my cell phone backed alarm system and my dog, I feel pretty secure even when I am not at home with my CC firearm.

Thanks for the info. What are their rates per $1000?

Currently insured with Collectibles, LLC. They're very reasonable and do not require an inventory listing with serial numbers.

If I understand my policy correctly there is no additional charge for firearms per $1000 or otherwise. My personal property is insured through them for $201,000.00, in other words my gun collection is insured for full value up to $201,000.00, of course my gun collection is not worth anything close to that, and if you took out this insurance you would need to estimate the value of all your household goods, then the value of your gun collection and add the two together to come up with the total value you should insure your personal property for. Actually I am probably way over insured and I might have to re estimate the value of the contents of my house, however if you added up the replacement costs of all the clothes, all the linens and bathroom towels, every stick of furniture in every room, every tv and radio or stereo, all the plates and silverware and kitchen pots and pans and utensils, the phones, the computers, the knick naks, my wifes shoes, camping gear, fishing gear, hunting gear, a basement full of junk etc, etc,, you might be suprised at how much the junk in my house would cost to replace, now imagine your house.

The total annual premium for my policy is $647.00, but I also have earthquake insurance, and water backup and sump overflow insurance and personal property replacement cost coverage. In this policy your firearms are not on a separate policy or a rider but are included up to the full value of the total for not your dwelling but for your personal property or household goods.

Unfortunately this insurance is only for current Military Members, including the National Guard and Reserve, Veterans including the Guard and Reserve, Veterans Widows, and Children of Veterans who are Armed Forces Insurance Members, and active or retired Department of Defense Civilian Employees.
