I have those lever scope mounts, they work great, but was wanting one that pushed the scope more forward, to give me better eye relief.

Thought about buying one from LaRue, but cant see spending nearly three hundred buxs for something like picture below would do as good.

Having the same problem with eye relief till I found this scout mount from RRA. I too like the quick release lever rings....will eventually put some Dave Talley's on.

The lever mounts work good & could make do with them, but having scope more forward, will feel more natural.
This isnt a bad mount & priced to sell, not a Larue, but that doesnt really matter to shooters, but posers will say something as always.

the most common gear i have seen fail is the gear from UTG often is not machined well and out of spec and soft......

Those were my thoughts, but the ones I've seen, seem to be well.
Like the current issue of military MATECH rear sights......
They report, they break if over tighten while installing them.

Sights and scope mounts arent maint to be used as a hammer.

What are the advantages/disadvantages of a scout rail/rings (like Rembrandt), versus a one piece rail/rings like this from Armalite (or the one from the original question?)

Both are designed to increase eye relief, but do you get the scope even further forward with the scout rail? I'm putting a Nikon Monarch 3-9x40 on a flattop - which method would serve better?

From what I've seen AR's typically use shorter length tactical scopes, tube length from bell-to-bell is shorter. Longer scopes can add a few more inches from bell-to-bell.

The space between the front and rear ring is fixed on a one piece mount, leaving little adjustment to move the scope forward. While the one piece mount can be made to work on long scopes, it leaves several inches of the tube hanging out in front of the ring unsupported.

I prefer to spread the rings out to give the scope tube maximum support. If the scope got banged around, the weakest point (and most likely to bend) would be the small diameter of the tube ahead of the front ring.

All of the less expensive AR mounts will work for you IF you do not plan to take off the scope anytime soon.

The Larue mount is the only mount on the market that puts a bigger scope at the right distance from the eye and can be taken on and off without losing zero.

I thought the Larue was a bit expensive at first. After living with the SPR 1.5 I won't use anything else.

I am looking to put an actual Leupold Scout Scope EER setup. Something like the predator system, that links a rial all the way forward through (and including) for forgrip is an option, but buku ducci. Maybe something like what you guys are posting will be the ticket..

Good point, Rembrandt. I think you're right - the scout rail and rings will probably be the best bet.

I like the LaRue mounts alot, but cant see were their worth $200 plus shipping, compared to other similar mounts, that cost $50 shipped.

Made pretty much out of the same materials and both CNC machined.

Forward mounts in conjunction with AR upper, is pretty stable.

Ahhh ummm those items are worlds apart......... if you havent used them side by side you will never know......... if its plinker gun finestick with whomever but on a serious life or death gun larue rules the roost nothing is finer
